The Tavern
Until the end of 1971, La Remise was still a farm and a small café.
In the past, taverns were very common in Ardennes villages.
But long before that, the house was a coaching inn. Part of the gable, to the east, built in a candle shape,
is the last witness and still attests to the antiquity of the construction.
In 1979, Edgard Grévisse became the owner of the place. After ten years of
works, the La Remise museum opens its doors for the first time.
An impressive collection of agricultural equipment is on display there, but very
Many objects bearing witness to the rural life of our ancestors are also gathered there.
In 1990, Edgard Grévisse acquired a second building, opposite the museum.
Today, two guest rooms have been furnished with great taste and comfort.
In 1992, Jean-Claude Servais, the comic book artist, created a drawing representing La Remise,
by subtly mixing two different eras.
An ideal place to savor an Orval in style.
